VS summons Sardesai on November 22

A decision to give a notice to Sardesai was taken at an all party meeting presided over by Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey here today. Principal Secretary Vidhan Sabha Rajendra Prasad Pandey said a notice would be issued asking Sardesai to appear before the House on November 22.

Earlier, the Vidhan Sabha had passed a resolution ordering that Sardesai be produced before the House in police custody on October 27.

Later, Sardesai moved the Supreme Court on the issue and assured the SC that he would present himself before the Vidhan Sabha.

A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the House was also held. As per the agenda that the committee cleared, the State Government will table the third supplementary grants for 2006-2007 in the Vidhan Sabha on Friday.

The House will pass the grants the same day. After Friday’s meeting, the Vidhan Sabha will meet again on November 22 and 23.
