Saxena says that he has entered politics because he feels that as an educated individual it his duty to participate in the system to bring about a change.

Though contesting as an Independent, Saxena has a tie-up with Youth For Equality.

“I want to bring back the focus to real issues that matter. At present there is a big difference between what is actually
happening and what people want from the government,” he said.

Saxena has three main poll issues that he wants to focus on — development of Chandni Chowk, taking up the cause of small and medium scale industrialists and improving basic civic amenities in the area.

“There are open sewers all around. Garbage remains strewn in the open for days. These issues have been there for years and nobody has bothered to address them to date,” he said.

Saxena campaigns in a unique way to draw attention to these issues. “We have been staging street plays and corner shows to draw attention to these issues,” He might be up against odds but he is not showing it.
