With reference to the editorial The pallor of money (June 9), assets worth crores of rupees were unearthed in the recent past during CBI raids on some politicians’ premises. In fact, all Indian politicians have amassed wealth through unfair means. If they declare their true wealth, our politicians will be the wealthiest persons in the world.

Nothing but truth

Barkha Dutt deserves praise for calling a spade a spade (It is not a family soap, June 10). The same media which eulogised Pramod Mahajan in his prime, is now in a big hurry to show him down. Dutt is right in her analysis of the tragedy of the ‘sons of powerful fathers’ who have made it big by not entirely fair means. This tragedy proves her point.

On reservation

Dipankar Gupta’s assertion in Sweeping statement (June 12) that ‘OBC’ is abbreviated from ‘Other Backward Classes’ and not ‘Other Backward Castes’ is an eye-opener. This clarification changes the complexion of the reservation issue.

News unworthy

It seems Rakhi Sawant has found an easy way to make headlines by involving herself in controversies. The recent incident at a birthday party indicates her desire to be in the news, no matter how. The media should ignore such useless masala news and concentrate on real issues.
