The chief minister launched the website at a workshop organised by the Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority.

Collector AL Jarhad, the man behind the website, made a presentation on the same before the chief minister and other officials at a conference in Mumbai.

Thane is the first district in the state to come out with such a dedicated website.

In another development, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has said it will initiate criminal action against a contractor for allegedly misusing its logo on the school bags distributed to students of municipal schools in Ulhasnagar.

Mayor Ashok Vaity in a hurriedly convened press conference on Monday night said that the contractor would also be blacklisted by the civic school board.

A recent expose by the activists of a political party had found that the school bags meant for the students of municipal schools in Thane, were found distributed to their counterparts in Ulhasnagar by a corporator.
