Wife's fight on flight grounds family
A woman from Kerala picked up a fight with her husband on board an Emirates flight to US.
A woman, incensed over her in-laws accompanying her family to the US, picked up a fight with the husband on board an Emirates flight on Sunday just as it was taxiing for take off, following which the family was offloaded.
The five-member family of George Joseph Mulavarickal from Pathanamthitta district comprising his wife Goldy, their child and George's parents were on their way to the US via Dubai.
Though his wife had thrown tantrums against her in-laws accompanying them before boarding, George had pacified his wife and the family boarded the flight, airport sources said.
But the truce was short-lived and the woman started nagging her husband again.
As the flight began taxiing on the runway, George immediately informed the cabin crew that he wanted to disembark with his family.
The flight later left for Dubai an hour behind schedule.
However, the Emirates authorities did not allow the family to leave the airport until the flight reached its destination at Dubai, airport sources said.
