Deepika Sharma (22) poured kerosene over herself in front of her husband Rohit's workplace in Bhatindi on Thursday night, Bhatindi's Sub-Inspector Shiv Devi Singh said.

She was later rushed to a hospital with 70% burn injuries where she succumbed to death on Friday morning, Singh said.

Deepika allegedly had strained relationship with her husband whom she married in 2009. She was living separately since November, he said. A case has been registered in this connection and her in-laws and husband have been called for questioning, he added.
