Woman robbed

A WOMAN was robbed of Rs 7,500 cash and a cell phone near Char Imli on Saturday night. The complainant, Reeta Raikwar, who works with a private company was returning home when two unidentified motorcycle-borne men snatched her purse that was slung on her shoulder. The incident occurred near Hanuman Mandir.

A WOMAN was robbed of Rs 7,500 cash and a cell phone near Char Imli on Saturday night. The complainant, Reeta Raikwar, who works with a private company was returning home when two unidentified motorcycle-borne men snatched her purse that was slung on her shoulder. The incident occurred near Hanuman Mandir.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the case. In another incident, a man’s bag was stolen from Kotwali area. The complainant, Rajendra Mehta, 35, had drawn Rs 51,000 from the bank and was returning home when he stopped at a shop to have cold drink.

The bag containing cash was hanging on the handle of his moped. His attention was diverted for moment and he found the bag was missing. The police have registered a case.

In yet another incident, a case of fraud was reported today. The wife of a policeman has complained that she handed over the amount meant for depositing monthly installment of a loan to her husband’s friend, who deposited just Rs 300 in place of the needed 2,300 and gave her slips after forging them.
