An SMS campaign requesting recipients to forward a messaged plea to the Bihar Director General of Police AR Sinha is making rounds.

The woman, Shabnam Sinha, daughter of a retired police officer, has alleged that she was sexually exploited for over eight years by Amitabh Kumar Das, an Indian Police Service officer, who had promised her marriage.

Sinha had confirmed receiving hundreds of messages on his mobile phone. He also made it clear that no rape charges could be framed against the accused as both were adults and the relations between them were of mutual consent.

The message read: "I am Shabnam Sinha. Would you help me get justice from Amitabh Das? Please forward this message to five more people and ask them to send this to DGP Sinha at this number".
