Workers clash with cops at T'puram airport

The scuffle broke out when some employees sought to barge into the office of the Airport Director.

A group of agitating workers at the international airport here today clashed with security personnel resulting in injuries to five persons, airport sources said.

The scuffle broke out when some employees sought to barge into the office of the Airport Director. They allegedly threw the waste from the dustbin at the security staff which sparked the clash, the sources said. The agitating employees also smashed the flower pots in front of the director's office. Three employees and two CISF men in charge of security at the airport were injured. Both sides have lodged complaints with the police.
