The incident occurred on Saurday night, the official said.
Two youths, Birju Shah and Surya Bali, both hailing from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, had boarded the Saket Express at Bhusaval station and they had an argument with four unidentified persons who entered their compartment, Government Railway Police (GRP) Station In-Charge Vijay Gatoria said.
The accused threw Shah out of the running train and stabbed Bali, he said.
The victims were immediately rushed the government medical college where condition of Shah, who sustained head injuries, is reported to be critical, he said.
A case has been registered against the accused under sections 307 and 34 of IPC, Gatoria added.
