Zimbabwe put Australia in to bat at Melbourne

Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak won the toss and asked Australia to bat first in the tenth league match.

Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak won the toss and asked Australia to bat first in the tenth league match of the VB Series, under overcast skies, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.

The Africans dropped Stuart Matsikenyeri and Travis Friend, handing seamer Blessing Mahwire his one-day International debut. Vusi Sibanda also returned to the eleven.

Australia brought in Ian Harvey and Andy Bichel in place of Jason Gillespie and Andrew Symonds from this dead rubber.

There was a smattering of rain before play started and Heath Streak decided to make maximum use of the conditions.
