STATE BJP president Keshari Nath Tripathi reacted sharply to the role played by the police administration during the election of Zila Parishad chairpersons in the State.

Referring to kidnapping of four Panchayat members by Samajwadi Party members and other criminals in Allahabad, Tripathi described it as a blemish on the Indian democracy.

The Panchayat results were affected because of malpractices adopted by the SP government, he alleged.

The BJP leader demanded from the State Election Commission to order an inquiry on the role played by the police administration as well as Samajwadi Party workers.

Tripathi recalled the chief minister’ s statement just after the conclusion of Panchayat elections in which he has said that the chairpersons will belong to his party.

The CM had manipulated the elections, he said. He demanded a probe into the matter so that the SP’s role may be exposed before people.

City president Ranjit Singh said winning the election with the help of police and criminals was not a good sign.
