A complaint has been filed in a court in Bhatinda against BJP MLA from Indore Usha Thakur for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs by wearing Kirpan (Sikhs' sword) without being a baptised Sikh.
The complaint in this regard has been filed by Sikh religious preacher Baba Hardip Singh, head of Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj, Sardulgarh in Mansa district and Baljinder Singh and Surinder Singh from Nathana near here.

Counsel for complainants, HS Khara said that they have demanded to register a case under sections 295 A and 298 of Indian Penal Code against the BJP leader for hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs by wearing a Kirpan during a function in Indore this month.
The complaint has been filed on the basis of photos of BJP leader wearing Kirpan in public functions published in newspapers. The court of chief judicial magistrate fixed October 4 as the next date of hearing and shifted the matter in court of judicial magistrate first class Manpreet Kaur.
