A 14-year-old girl was allegedly sold off by her parents for Rs 50,000 to a man, who the minor was forced to marry, police said on Saturday.

Police have registered a case against the parents and the accused 'husband', who are absconding.
"On June 1, 2014, she was forcibly married to a person, who was more than twice her age and her parents took Rs 50,000 from the person, who is from Jhabua," said city superintendent of police Annapurna AH Ghuraiya.
The accused had allegedly confined the victim in a house and repeatedly raped her, police said.
"We have registered a case of rape against the husband, the parents and two others under section 370 IPC," said town inspector Vinod Dixit.
The victim has been sent for medical examination and further investigation is on, he said.
