Indore: Congress, BJP gear up for civic election results

Both the parties appointed over 300 observers and room in-charges. About 156 tables will be laid in 10 rooms at the Nehru Stadium and the counting will start at 9 am and results are expected to be out by 1 pm.

On Monday, the local BJP office was abuzz with party-appointed observers milling around to get their photo identity cards issued by district election office.

City BJP treasurer and election in-charge Satish Bansal said that the party will hold a training workshop for observers on Tuesday. In the training workshop, he said, observers will be made accustomed with the counting process.

District election office holds counting of votes in presence of observers appointed by political parties to ensure transparency in the procedure. Parties usually appoint people who are good at calculations as observers.

"Things have been sorted out but we have asked district election office to allow parties to appoint an additional room in-charge," Jaiswal told reporters late in evening.
