The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and a host of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, senior politician Arvind Menon and Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan among others.

The second women mayor of Indore, Gaud had registered a landslide victory against Congress rival Archana Jaiswal recently.

A current member of the legislative assembly (MLA) from constituency number 4, Gaud had won with a margin of over a lakh votes.

A close aide of Gaud said, "She was busy with some private engagements that had been lined up just after the mayoral elections were over. After that, there was the occasion of Mahashivratri and Amavasya to be considered. So we settled for February 19 for the swearing-in ceremony."

Gaud will be the second woman mayor of Indore.
