Police claimed that they have not found any evidence of firing by an RTO inspector in Manpur accident case till now. However, they said they are investigating on the angle if the accident was caused by the negligence of RTO officials.

On Thursday, two people were killed in Manpur area when an inspector of regional transport office (RTO) allegedly fired at a truck which did not stop after being asked to do so. The trolley then rammed into a bike due to which two people, including a woman, were killed on the spot. One other was injured.

"No bullet was fired as per the investigation done till now. We are now investigating whether any action by RTO officials led to circumstances which caused the accident," said SDOP Mhow Arun Mishra.

Police said that as per the preliminary investigation the truck was stopped by the RTO personnel. The bike which was coming from behind rammed into the truck.

The deceased are Gulab Singh (30), resident of Rajendra Nagar and Sangeeta, resident of Nanda Nagar, while Bhupendra (19) was injured in the incident. All three are relatives.

"We are investigating the case from all angles and case will be lodged if anyone is found guilty," said Mishra.
