MP government takes Facebook route to revive Rajwada

The administration plans to make a Facebook page on Rajwada where they will elicit suggestions from the people of Indore on how to make the historic place more attractive and tourist-friendly.

The administration plans to make a Facebook page on Rajwada where they will elicit suggestions from the people of Indore on how to make the historic place more attractive and tourist-friendly.

The ultimate plan is to make the Rajwada become a vibrant art and culture centre of the city which will host cultural, music and arts programmes. The work will be conducted with funds collected from the public.

At a meeting of officials and members of Gaurav Foundation, which is closely involved in saving historical monuments, collector Akash Tripathi said there would be attractive lighting at Rajwada, woodwork would be polished to make the structure look attractive.

There would be an attractive stage where cultural and music programmes would be staged. A gallery of goods used during the Holkar era will be on display, the collector said and added that an appeal has been made to historians and collectors to donate any valuable things they might have so that they could be displayed.

The collector also inspected the ongoing renovation work at the Krishnapura Chhatri which is being done at the cost of Rs 1 crore. The work is expected to be completed by December 25.

The chhatri will have lighting which will change after a fixed time, giving the Chhatri a new look everytime. The security is also being beefed up. Apart from a boundary wall, security guards, there will be eight close circuit television cameras to keep watch.
