In a pre-dawn raid, the Lokayukta police unearthed unaccounted property worth Rs 5 crore from a top excise official's residences on Friday.

The raid was carried out at assistant excise commissioner Naval Singh Jamod’s Dhar and Indore residences simultaneously.
Jamod has served 25 years in seven districts. He has three daughters and a son.
Rs 30 lakh was kept in separate envelopes carrying names, which indicated it could be bribe money. The police also seized jewellery (whose evaluation is awaited) along with an add-on confiscation of about 5kg silver and 380 gram gold till evening.
The seizure also included property documents, carrying details about two flats in Dhar, a bungalow in Kukshi, some bank lockers, over 50 acres of land in Dhulia and Umrali villages of Kukshi, two other flats in his daughter's name, besides petrol pump, a warehouse and a gas agency in the name of his brother. Superintendent of police (Lokayukta) Arun Mishra said, "We have seized currency notes from the house and we will try and find out the links."
DSP Daulat Singh, who led a 30-member team, said that they reached Jamod’s Gumashta Nagar residence at around 5.30am and woke the family up from their sleep. The search operation continued till 7pm.
