The flying squad of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) on Monday caught three students using malpractices during the physics examination at three exam centres in Indore.
With this, the total number of cases of fraud during exams rose to seven in Indore district as four cases were detected at different centres in Indore districts during the first two exams for classes 10 and 12.
District education officer (DEO) Kishore Shinde said three cases, one each at Gomatgiri, Arndiya village and Musakheri, were detected during the examination on Monday. Following the rumours of the physics paper being leaked an hour before the start of the examination, Shinde clarified that the news was false.
“Nothing of that sort happened in the morning and everything went peacefully,” Shinde said. “Students should not believe these rumours. They should focus on their studies,” he added. The rumours had spread through WhatsApp with students getting messages that the paper had been leaked and they could access the papers by paying Rs 100.
Chaos also prevailed at Nanda Nagar when students of the government-aided Gyan Higher Secondary School failed to find out their roll numbers.
Students and their parents lodged a protest claiming that the exam centre changed their exam rooms every day, which took them half-an-hour to find out their respective seats in the exam halls. When asked about this, Shinde said at the time of filling out the exam form, many schools had failed to fill out the medium of examination and subject columns properly, due to which the schools faced such problems. e the seating arrangements for students belonging to different mediums and subjects,” he added.
