The CPI(M) on Monday said that the arrest of two Maoists from a relief camp run by the Trinamool Congress in Midnapore town was indicative of its "clear nexus" with the ultras.

"Two persons have been arrested and both of them are accused of launching an armed attack on the Eastern Frontier Rifles personnel at their Silda camp," CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose said in a statement in Kolkata.

Bose wondered how Trinamool Congress would now "disown" its connection with the Maoists.

"There is a clear nexus between Trinamool Congress and the Maoists," he alleged.
