Dialogue only way out in democracy: Pranab

Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said that in a democracy finding solutions through dialogue is the only way out.
In an apparent reference to the agitation for a separate Gorkhaland out of West Bengal, Mukherjee said: "In democracy there is no way of finding a solution except dialogue."
In the tripartite meeting held Dec 21, there was no consensus on the issue of a Gorkhaland state but discussions to find a solution to the problem would continue, union Home Secretary G.K. Pillai said on Monday after a three-hour meeting with the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) and the state government.
The GJM has been spearheading a movement for a separate Gorkhaland state.
