The non-stop "Duranto" train from Howrah to Bangalore would be flagged off on December 30, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said.

Howrah-New Delhi weekly 'Yuva', the low-cost air-conditioned seated accommodation train would also be introduced from December 30, she said.
Yuva will be run for the benefit of the youth at a fare of Rs 299 up to 1500 kms and Rs 399 upto 2500 kms. Extension of Sealdah-Amritsar weekly express between Delhi and Amritsar will be also inaugurated on December 30.
Banerjee said foundation stone for the extension of the Metro railway from Dum Dum to Dakshineswar, a pilgrim centre, covering a distance of eight km, would be laid on January two.
Presently, Metro Railway runs between Kavi Nazrul station at Garia in southern outskirts of the city to Dum Dum covering a distance of 23.3 km.
She said inauguration of the renovated Metro Railway Hospital at Tollygunge in South Kolkata which will be named after the late film director Tapan Sinha will be done on January eight.
Banerjee who has ensured in her rail budget that her home state gets more benefits said there would be a flurry of railway activity in Bengal in the coming three years.
The railway minister laid foundation stone for setting up two factories for manufacturing of electric and diesel engine components at Dankuni Hooghly district, 15 km away from Howrah station.
