US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said nearly 1.9 million undocumented immigrants have left the United States voluntarily following new outreach and incentive programs under President Donald Trump’s administration. The policy, announced in May, offers $1,000 and travel assistance to migrants who choose to return home using the CBP Home app, while deprioritising them for detention or deportation. Speaking in Washington, Noem highlighted the administration’s focus on enforcement paired with voluntary compliance. She also addressed tariffs, urging companies to invest in the US and meet safety requirements to avoid trade penalties.
