  • Age:

    38

  • Currently I am:

Hosting Nexa Presents Konkan Diaries on Zee Zest where I am vlogging my journey.

  • High point in life:

When my film won the 66th National Film Award for the Best Feature Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation.

  • Low point in life:

Some years before Paani, I wasn’t happy with the kind of work I was doing. My dad always tells me, ‘chalti gaadi mein koi nahi baithta’. I then paused, introspected and trusted the process. Thereafter, quality work started happening.

  • On my playlist:

Pseudo Saiyaan by Sneha Khanwalker -- I love all her songs; Freedom by Django; Bai ga from my movie Chandramukhi.

  • On my speed dial:

    Dad, Mom and driver.

  • Today I am craving:

    A Keto Chocolate mousse.

  • Next big splurge:

I have been dying to travel to Europe, so that will happen super soon.

  • Last thing I ordered online:

I have a cleanliness OCD so I am always ordering packaging items or something related to cleaning. My last purchase was shoe covers.

  • App I check before going to bed:

    Kindle. I love reading.

  • Advice I would give my 18-year-old self:

Read more. I started reading in my 30s, and I wish I had started earlier.

  • A secret skill I have:

I love writing, which few people know about. I used to write a daily news column in Lokmat earlier in my career.

  • A superpower/magic tool I wish I had:

Time travel so I could go back to the 100-1000s. I love history, anthropology, Indology, archaeology. I want to know all about Shivaji, Ashoka and many more.

  • My favourite Sunday memory while growing up:

Dad and I going to play tennis.

  • My most star-struck moment so far:

I am a huge fan of Zoya Akhtar. Once, when I was at Priyanka Chopra’s home for the screening of Paani, the bell rang and Priyanka said, “ Hi Zozo.” My heart skipped and I was stuck to my seat!

  • My favourite bad habit:

I spend hours on YouTube videos.

  • If I could travel back or forward in time, I’d…:

I would hate for time travel to change anything about my personal journey. But I would love to go to the past just for history – the pyramids, Mohenjo Daro, Shivaji...

  • A trait I despise in people:

Pretence. I cannot stand pretentious people.

  • I won’t leave the house without…:

My backpack. It contains my world.

  • In one word, the Marathi film industry is:

    Home.

  • The best thing about fame:

You can use it to reach masses of people and generate awareness.

  • The worst thing about fame:

Sometimes people take it too seriously.
