The AAP on Sunday launched its mega campaign to demand full statehood for Delhi by staging a protest outside near the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters at Deendayal Upadhyay Marg.

On Sunday, the protesters — which included AAP volunteers and its different wings — demanded that the BJP clear its stand on full statehood for Delhi.
“For the first phase of election, the party has prepared 20 ‘prachar rath’ which will tour localities of each of the seven constituencies of Delhi and spread the message of full statehood. The party has also formed 1,000 teams that will go door-to-door covering seven Lok Sabha constituencies divided into 560 zones,” AAP’s Delhi unit conveneer Gopal Rai said.
In the second phase, Rai said, the AAP legislators will hold street meetings, while in the third phase all “star campaigners” of the party will hold rallies in Delhi. On Monday, the party will gherao Congress’ party office in the national Capital.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen?S Kapoor said, “Arvind Kejriwal has failed the city on a lot of aspects such as development of infrastructure and public transport. Hence, he has been forced to rake up issues like statehood. He has no grounds to go to the people for the Lok Sabha polls.”
