Shivpal Yadav forms poll front, to contest against nephew

Shivpal, the sitting MLA from Jaswantnagar, is facing SP nominee Akshaya Yadav, who is the son of party general secretary Ramgopal Yadav.

Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSP-L) founder Shivpal Singh Yadav on Tuesday launched a political front called the Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA), and said he will fight against his nephew Akshaya Kumar Yadav from Ferozabad.

The Krishna Patel faction of the Apna Dal and the Peace Party are also part of PDA.

Shivpal, the sitting MLA from Jaswantnagar, is facing SP nominee Akshaya Yadav, who is the son of party general secretary Ramgopal Yadav. Ferozabad is considered a bastion of SP, which has retained the seat since 1999 barring in 2009, when Congress won.

Shivpal said Tanushree Tripathi, the elder daughter of Amar Mani Tripathi, who is in jail in connection with a murder, will fight from from Maharajganj.
