The state cabinet has decided to name the proposed civil terminal at the Indian Air Force airport at Bareilly as Nath Nagri Civil Terminal.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting of the cabinet that also decided to name civil terminal at IAF’s Chakeri airport of Kanpur after eminent journalist and freedom fighter Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi.

As four Nath (Shiva) temples are situated in Bareilly, the city is often called Nath Nagri. After the cabinet’s decision, a resolution will be moved in the state assembly to name the civil terminals of two airports as Nath Nagri Civil Terminal and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Civil Terminal.

Yogi led cabinet had earlier named the civil terminals of IAF’s Gorakhpur and Agra airports. The civil terminal of Gorakhpur airport was named after Maha Yogi Gorakhnath, the founder of Nath Pant (Monastic movement). Chief minister is the Mahant of Gorakhnath temple. The civil terminal of IAF’s Kheria airport of Agra was named after BJP ideologue Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

The state cabinet decided to revert Akhilesh Yadav led SP government’s decision on appointment of executive officers in urban local bodies. The SP government had decided that the appointments of executive officers in urban local bodies would be made through UP Subordinate Service Selection Board instead of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. The state cabinet decided to make the appointments of executive officers through the UPPSC now.
