The proposal for making water harvesting a must for water connection was, however, passed with a voice vote.

The corporators opposed the move to increase water charges stating Jal Sansthan supplied water only for two hours in morning and evening and any increase would invite public fury.

General manage r Jal Sansthan Rajeev Bajpai argued in favour of the increase. He said the water charges were increased in 2001. The rates of chemicals, power have gone up along with employees’ salary and cost of repairs since then.

The house passed the new advertisement policy by the state government which is supposed to increase LMC income by three fold.
