US ambassador sees great scope for investment in state
Nancy J Powell, the United States ambassador to India, met chief minister (CM) Akhilesh Yadav at his residence on August 30.
An official press release described the meeting between Powell and the CM as a courtesy call. During the meeting, Powell said there was tremendous scope for US investment in Uttar Pradesh. She expressed the desire to strengthen bilateral ties between the US and India, particularly in the context of Uttar Pradesh.
She enquired about the state government’s priorities from the chief minister.
Labour and employment minister Waquar Ahmad Shah, minister of state for protocol Abhishek Mishra, state planning commission vice chairman NC Bajpai and Rakesh Garg, the principal secretary to the chief minister, were also present on the occasion.
