Mumbai bikers snatch gold chain from 78-year-old woman on a morning walk

Two unidentified bikers allegedly robbed a 78-year-old woman of her gold chain during her morning walk near the Lilavati Hospital at Bandra (West) on Wednesday morning.

At 6.55 am on Wednesday, they were at KC Marg when the two bikers came from behind and snatched the gold chain. She lost her balance and fell. Her husband failed to prevent the fall.”

Kinney usually does not wear jewellery during morning walk, but the previous day she had attended a function and forgot to remove the gold chain, said the officer.

After the incident, the woman and her husband consulted with their relatives and filed a complaint with the Bandra police. The police said the gold chain was priced around Rs75,000.

The police have registered a case under sections 392 (punishment for robbery), 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian penal Code. The police have formed teams to trace the bikers.
