The child’s mother delivered the boy at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Hospital on Sunday. The CCTV footage of the civic hospital shows the woman leaving the hospital with the child on Tuesday.

The police took custody of the baby and they took him to the civic hospital, where the records showed the child was delivered on October 16. “We have registered a case of abandonment of child against the woman. She had given a fake name and address while seeking admission for delivery,” said a police officer.

After seeking permission from the Thane court we have admitted the child to a child care centre at Dombivli, he said.

A case of abandonment of child has been registered against the unidentified woman.
