In protest against multiplex managements not allowing outside food, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers on Monday forcefully entered the PVR multiplex at Lower Parel in Mumbai carrying outside eatables.

Police stopped the group but later allowed them to enter the movie hall carrying their samosas. Around 20 MNS workers booked tickets for the 2:40 pm show of the film ‘Fanney Khan’.
When they entered carrying packets of samosa, they were stopped by the police stationed there. The workers led by former corporator Sandeep Deshpande argued they had valid entry tickets and carrying outside eatables was allowed by the state government.
They then forced the closure of the food court at the movie hall. “Police seem to be more interested in allowing illegal acts of the multiplex owners than enforcing laws. How can they stop (us) entering with eatables when it is allowed by the government?” said Deshpande.
Despite several attempts by HT, PVR had not responded with a comment over the incident.
