Sholay live: Say sorry, or I will jump off the terrace, Mumbai woman threatens husband
For the past few months, the couple has been fighting over petty issues such as money or his sister’s alleged interference in their lives
In a reminder of a scene straight from Hindi film Sholay, a 19-year-old woman from Dombivli in Mumbai threatened to jump off the terrace of a four-storey building if her husband didn’t apologise to her for asking her to go her parents home.
Arti Choudhary,19, got married to Mahesh Choudhary, 21, who works at a construction site in Thane, in October. For the past few months, the couple has been fighting over petty issues such as money or his sister’s alleged interference in their lives.
“ We got a call to rescue the woman around 2pm on Thursday. She had climbed the terrace and got on to the ledge, demanding her husband apologise for the fight in the morning. A few local residents got her husband, who said sorry to her and promised he wouldn’t fight with her again,” said Lalita Thokle, assistant sub-inspector, Dombivli police station.
The police managed to convince the woman to come down. The couple was counselled and sent back home after a warning.
