After a St Xavier’s College student was found dead in Matheran on Tuesday, his father said the 17-year-old was a happy-go-lucky teen and not depressed. Mast Daga was excited for his 18th birthday in February and had recently ordered headphones from an online shopping portal, said his father, Naresh.
Daga went missing around 12 noon on Monday. His body was found the next day. The post-mortem report revealed that he suffered a heart attack. The report indicated multiple fractures, leading police to suspect he collapsed and fell in the valley.
“My son was preparing for his design exams, which were in January. He had applied to the Unitedworld Institute of Design and the Indian School of Design & Innovation,” said Naresh.
He added that Daga did not seem stressed or under any kind of pressure the day he left home. “He was our only child. We are in shock,” he said.
He said he gave his son Rs4,000 a month as pocket money. “He never asked for more,” said Naresh.
