“Umar (the accused) was trying to convey a message to the watchman and when Faizan (the victim), who was inside the premises of the society and in the range of the lights objected to it. Umar then got off his car and started arguing with Faizan. The complainant said that he tried to pacify the situation but the accused was allegedly not ready to resolve the matter,” said an officer.

According to the complaint, Faizan then told Umar that he is of his son’s age and told him to call his father Siddique Shaikh. “By the time the argument escalated, Siddique came down with another accomplice Haris Khan. Umar then brought out bamboo sticks from his car and all three of them along with another unknown person started beating Faizan with the sticks,” added the officer.

The officer also added that a cross FIR was registered against a person named Nadeem, Faizan’s brother, by a 56-year-old woman, for touching her inappropriately while the fight took place. We registered the complaint under section 354 of Indian Penal Code against Nadeem after the woman approached the police station.
