Majeed on Saturday moved the bail plea through his advocate Farhana Shah and is likely to come up for hearing during the week.
Areeb, a civil engineering student, has been in jail since his return from Syria in November 2014.
The agency claims that between August and October 2014, Majeed had participated in several attacks perpetrated by ISIS from which he had sustained bullet injures on two occasions and was seriously injured in a bombing incident.
Majeed, along with three others from Kalyan, had left India to join ISIS in May 2014 on the pretext of a pilgrimage.
