The Jai Bhagwan Taxi Rickshaw Sanghatana has called for the protest march, which has invited all unions in the Mumbai region to join it.

The Mumbai Taximen’s Union, one of the largest taxi unions in the city, has decided not to participate the protest.

Balasaheb Sanap, president of the Sanghatana, said “We want to know how they offer service at just Rs 6 a km when the fixed rate is Rs 8 for taxis. There is conspiracy to wipe out taxis from the scene. We are going ask the government that the Uber and Ola services should be treated as taxis.”
