As per the proposal, sent by Builders’ Association of India (BAI), slum redevelopment projects should be implemented by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada), Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority or City and Industrial Development Corporation. BAI sent the suggestion to the state government for the second time this year.

“We had sent the proposal last year but there was no response; so we resent it this year too. But we are happy that MHADA is going to redevelop Dharavi sector V,” said Anand Gupta, treasurer, BAI.
