Varsha Rokade, secretary of Bar council and advocate Karan Bhosale pointed out the judgment by Andhra Pradesh High Court in 1972, which restrained advocates to argue their personal cases wearing advocates' gown and neck band.

The high court had sought clarification from the bar council after advocate Narendra B. Deshmukh insisted on arguing contempt notice issued to him in advocates' gown and neck band.

The matter is likely to come up for hearing later this week.
