MUMBAI: The BKC police arrested the motorcyclist who had killed a 54-year-old man in BKC, Bandra east, on May 9.

The youth had suffered a fracture on his face and minor injuries on his hands and legs in the accident. He was arrested after being discharged from the Sion hospital.

The accused identified as Nitin Bhogale, 22, alias Maddy was driving the bike. The police had earlier suspected pillion rider Ganesh Swami of riding the bike, as he fled from the spot without rendering help. Bhogale had become unconscious and was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital.

“After he gained consciousness he confessed in the police statement that he was driving the bike and not Swami,” said an investigating officer. He has been granted bail by a magistrate’s court.
