Saheb directed his PA [Rajendra Kale] to make calls to the local officials.

The PA went towards the road to make the calls while I was standing near the vehicle. Saheb then shot some clips on his mobile phone and after some time went and stood under a tree. I saw two men come on a motorcycle. They got into an argument with Sonawane saheb. Before I knew it, saheb was on the ground.

One of them set him alight after pouring fuel on him. The mob then turned towards us and we fled to save our lives. I don’t know who actually set saheb on fire but I will recognise the men who came on the motorcycle.”
