Man beaten to death by son’s wife, her family

A senior citizen was killed allegedly by his daughter-in-law, her parents and sister after his family raised doubts over the character of the woman, police said on Monday.

Jaleel Kazi, 65, was beaten to death by his daughter-in-law Haseena Begum, 22, her parents Raheem Shaikh, 50, Saliya, 45, and sister Salma, 20, police said.

According to police, Haseena is married to Kazi’s son Sohail. When Sohail’s family raised raised doubts about his wife, an enraged Haseena told her parents. They confronted him on Monday and assaulted him. Kazi was taken to a nearby hospital, but was dead before admission.
