Laxmi and Manoj were residing with Laxmi's parents since their marriage. Senior inspector SS Rajput from Mankhurd police station said, "Manoj suspected that Laxmi was having a relationship with her first husband, Kayoom Abdul Shaikh, whom she had left a few years ago to marry him. The couple fought frequently over this and even on Monday night, they had a fight on the same issue."

Mankhurd police are on the lookout for Manoj, who hails from Uttar Pradesh and is an auto-rickshaw driver by profession.
