Mumbai: Man found hanging at KEM identified, suicide suspected
After a probe into the incident, the police identified the deceased as Darshan Bhagwan Bansode, a resident of Nanded. His mother was receiving treatment at the hospital following a paralytic attack.
The Bhoiwada police have identified the man who was found hanging at KEM Hospital on Monday morning and suspect it to be a case of suicide.
Following an investigation into the incident, the police identified the deceased as 24-year-old Darshan Bhagwan Bansode, a resident of Nanded. His mother was receiving treatment at the hospital following a paralytic attack.
“Bansode was unemployed and a drunkard. He’d had a brawl with his brother Vishal after which he might have hanged himself,” said Sunil Tondwalkar, senior police inspector at Bhoiwada police station. “He also had financial worries as his mother was receiving treatment at the hospital.”
On Monday, authorities at KEM Hospital discovered a man hanging from a cable in the hallway outside the psychiatric department of the hospital.
The police are still trying to ascertain the exact sequence of events and on Tuesday questioned the family members of the deceased. “Neither have they accused anyone of foul play nor has a suicide note been recovered,” Tondwalkar said.
