New BJP chief to tour state to strengthen party
Newly elected BJP state president Sudhir Mungantiwar will undertake a state-wide tour starting from May 1 to strengthen the party base.
Newly elected BJP state president Sudhir Mungantiwar will undertake a state-wide tour starting from May 1 to strengthen the party base.

“I will undertake a ‘Sampark Abhiyan’ from May 1 to ensure that there is a quantitative and qualitative increase in the party cadre,” Mungantiwar said on Tuesday. He will start his state tour from Pandaharpur.
Mungantiwar, a fiery orator and a four-time MLA from the Vidarbha region, came down heavily on the state government for its “failure” to tackle issues such as terrorism, farmers’ suicides and inflation. “The government disconnects power supply of farmers for not paying bills but turns a blind eye to cases like Rs 1,951 crore dues owed by the Mula Pravara Electric Cooperative Society controlled by politicians,” he said.
Mungantiwar is from Chandrapur in Vidarbha and has been an active supporter of a separate Vidarbha state. He said there was no conflict between the BJP and its alliance partner, the Shiv Sena.
“We support a separate Vidarbha. That is our stance. The Sena opposes it, that is its stance. Our alliance has not taken place on this one issue.”
