In an incident that took place around 8pm on Friday, supporters of Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam’s wife and had an altercation with the management of the Cinemax theatre at Vesova over movie tickets.
According to Amboli police, Nirupam’s wife arrived late for the 8 pm show of the movie Anjaana Anjaani being screened at the multiplex.
She had done advance telephone booking and as per rules her ticket was sold off as she arrived late. According to an officer, “ This irked her followers who had an argument with the staff tried to create damage at the cinema hall.”
DCP Zone IX K. Prasanna said, “ Nirupam later arrived at the theatre and amicably resolved the issue with the theatre authorities.
The multiplex owners then refused to register a complaint against them.”
