PETA sets up museum for lab animals at airline building

In a recent letter to the airline Peta wrote that it wants to rent space in the former headquarters of the airline in tony Nariman Point locality and set up a museum of animals that have been abused and killed in medica experiments.

“We heard that the airline is having trouble finding lessors for its vacant building in Mumbai Peta would like to rent a space in your building to set up an anima experimentation museum. Our proposal will benefit your company,” the lobby group said in its July 18 letter.

Peta says it had convinced the airline to implement a ban on ferrying animals to labs but later went back on its word and continued transporting animals to “cruel tests”.

The reason for Peta to propose taking the space on rent is because the carrier is struggling to lease out a major part of its 23storey sea-facing building at Nariman Point.

While around 54,000 sq ft has been given to State Bank of India, it has been unable to attract more tenants because of high rentals.
