Hip-hop superstar 50 Cent is set to make his 37th birthday extra special for fans by giving away his new album for free. The 36-year-old In Da Club hitmaker, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, will make the release available for download online, completely free of charge.

In a series of Twitter posts, he writes, "You can't buy album 5 it's Free. Street king immortal will be for sale... The full CD will be out on my birthday."

The singer's follow-up to 2009's Before I Self Destruct has been delayed since last year, when he entered into a war of words with Interscope Records bosses for moving in slow motion.
