The trio posted the demo, along with a hazy video, of the song titled Open Eyes on their official blog -- a blog they started to document the recording process of the follow-up to their Barclaycard Mercury Prize-winning debut album xx.

In November, they wrote: "We have started recording our second album! We have also started this blog where we will post our inspirations and pictures and favourite songs."

The xx's Jamie Smith, who also goes by the stage name of Jamie xx, recently participated in Radiohead's remix series with his take on The King of Limbs' track Bloom. According to an interview with The Creators Project, he revealed that the new record is influenced by club music and that the band plans to release it in time for 2012's festival season.

According to NME, they are set to make their live comeback at Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival (May 30-June 3).
